Abstract

This contribution offers a general description of compounding in Abruzzese, focusing on V+N e N+A compounds, particularly vital in the dialect. However, other kinds of compounds are also discussed, as well as reduplicative constructions, despite the fact that the latter do not correspond in all cases to prototypical compounds and do not have nouns as output category.
