Abstract

The paper tackles a specific point of the problematic issue of Vedic causatives (namely a previously asserted – by S. Jamison - complementary distribution between Vedic presents with infixed nasals and morphological causatives with simple transitive meaning) and discusses it in order to re-evaluate the role of some semantic-syntactic parameters (such as telicity, transitivity and so on) for the definition of causative.
